Themed Trail: Lettmair Au
General Information
Theme Trail Lettmair Au
The theme trail takes you to the wetlands near the river Enns. So, if you are planning on visiting the Weidendom Visitor Centre, you should not miss this place. This 30-minute expedition into the world of the wetlands near the river Enns can easily be turned into several hours of fun if you are interested in natural flowing waters. You can build your own river landscape and listen to the history of Lettmair Au wetlands being narrated by a ‘talking book’. At the stations you will find out lots of new things about this habitat called river.
Step by step towards the amazing view
Lettmair Au theme trail is 1.5 kilometres long and highly recommendable if you quickly want to get away from it all and clear your mind. As soon as you get to the observation platform, your thoughts will stop racing - all you have to do is enjoy the beautiful nature.
On track
Lettmair Au theme trail is partly equipped with a wooden walkway that makes it accessible for wheelchairs and buggies. The trail is located right in the heart of Gesäuse National Park and provides lots of information on ecological matters. Those who were a little ‘off track’ when it comes to wetlands, will definitely encounter several 'aha!' Experiences here.
“In the Lettmair Au, a wide variety of views on the trees left lying around and on process protection are also discussed. You have the opportunity to actively participate in the forest debate. Please leave us your opinion here!”
