Themed Trail: Copper Trail Johnsbach
General Information
Copper was already being mined in Johnsbach during the Bronze Age 3500 years ago. Which technique was used at that time? Which places can still bear witness to mining today? Josef Hasitschka answers these questions in a book including a hiking guide. The Johnsbacher Kupferweg from Radmer to Johnsbach was opened in 2018. Resting benches were set up at remarkable waypoints and mallets and wrecking irons were erected as information boards. What is it with the waypoints? This information can be found in the hiking guide. The walking time is three hours, and along the way there are several places to stop for refreshments on mountain pastures. The trail can also be combined with the Paradeisstollen mine. The hiking guide is available at the information office Admont.
