Kleiner Buchstein via Eisenzieher (St. Gallen)
General Information
The route describes the access to the climbing route! An alpine climbing route, which can be looked up in detail in the climbing guide "Xeis Auslese" by Andreas Hollinger and Jürgen Reinmüller!
From the former Gasthaus Eisenzieher on the Buchauerstraße (B 117), from St. Gallen about 3½ km in the direction of Admont, the hiking trail marked with the number 644 branches off to the Kleiner Buchstein. Follow the forest road along the Griesbach stream up to an altitude of 747m and then turn left into the forest. Crossing the forest road a few times you reach a steep forest ridge and later on you reach rocks. Climb up an earthy steep gully, briefly through mountain pines and over a right-hand loop to the north shoulder at 1822m. To the southwest ridge one turns right, to the northern edge to the left.
Walking time from the iron puller 3 hours.
