General Information
Barrier free trail Leierweg and footbridge Johnsbachsteg
No matter what age group you are, the visitor center Willow Dome is a good starting point for a variety of activities such as children's programmes and educational trails, but also barrier-free hiking trails. In addition to the existing offer around the Willow Dome, the trail Leierweg is leads trough the riparian forests, connecting the Willow Dome with the bypass of the tunnel Zigeunertunnel and then leading to one of the most beautiful vintage points
The about 4 km long barrier-free trail offersapproximately 4 km long barrier-free trail Leiweg is offered.
It connects the willow cathedral with the bypass of the so-called gypsy tunnel via a forest path with footbridges. From there, the path (max. gradient: 10%) rises up to the beautiful vantage point "Leier" and allows breathtaking views down to the famous Enns eddy (seats available). Interactive display boards, such as the telescopes "Animals of the Forest" or "sporty" stations, which have been specially installed for wheelchair users, provide variety.
The trail can easily be combined with the Lettmair Au theme trail or the Ecological Footprint. A detour to Johnsbachsteg is also particularly worthwhile. In the middle of this wooden bridge, which was renovated in 2012, there is a viewing window through which children and people in wheelchairs can enjoy the impressive view of the Hochtor Group.
Barrier-free
People from the National Park want to share it with everyone. Those who cannot climb Planspitze Peak because of a reduced mobility are offered several other possibilities to get to know the nature and culture in the valley. You can rent a wheelchair together with a power unit called a Swiss Trac, which will pull you uphill in no time. Sounds awesome, is awesome.
