Arrival & Mobility
All roads lead to Rome - or to the Gesäuse after all? And once you've been to the Gesäuse, you usually don't want to leave! But before you and your vacation in the Gesäuse can really get going, you can find out here how you can best get there and what mobility options await you in the region.
By train
The train is the most environmentally friendly way to get to the Gesäuse. On weekends and holidays, trains run twice a day from Vienna via the Westbahn line directly to the Gesäuse and back again. Every Friday a new train connection brings you from Vienna to the Gesäuse and on to Liezen and the same train brings you back on Sunday evening.
