From the Ennstaler Hütte to the lofty heights of the panoramic summit:
This volume provides an insight into the fascinating mosaic of life forms of one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Gesäuse.
The first part is devoted to snow conditions in the Ennstal Alps, the leghorn forest near Hieflau, avalanche tracks as a habitat and numerous species of orchids and butterflies.
The second part deals with fungi, lichens, mosses and higher plants, with spiders, weaver carnivores, ants, bugs and cicadas, and highlights ground beetles, grasshoppers, moths and day butterflies, reptiles, amphibians and birds that could be recorded within 24 hours in 2008 during the GEO Day of Biodiversity.
