Heinz Habeler, the best-known of all butterfly researchers in Styria, has been studying moths of all kinds since his youth. In this opulent work, he reports on the methodology of collecting, the systematics of data collection, writes about the nature of the habitats in the Gesäuse National Park and illustrates his research results in extensive statistics and species portraits, which he himself richly illustrated.
The publication of "Butterflies in the Gesaeuse National Park" is both a tribute by the Gesaeuse National Park to the friend and esteemed colleague who died at the beginning of 2017 and the legacy of a profound lepidopterist who compiled 1,234 species and 17,278 finding data in the Gesaeuse.
