DVD - Die Zukunft ist wild in 3D
General Information
The future is wild
The 3D show shows with impressive 3D images a glimpse into the possible future of the Gesäuse National Park as a preserving treasure trove of our rich natural heritage.
It takes the viewer into a fascinating, pristine natural landscape in 100, 200 or maybe 300 years ... but watch out - the future is WILD!
In the midst of the Northern Limestone Alps, surrounded by steep, towering mountain walls, lies the youngest of Austria's national parks, the Gesäuse National Park. Untamed rivers, dense forests, gentle alpine pastures and rugged rocks define its nature.
However, even here, in the midst of this remote landscape, man has left his mark through the centuries. Has - because as a national park, for the first time in a long time, there is again the chance to let nature be nature, to allow original dynamics and to offer the possibility for man to withdraw to the role of the silent observer - and admirer.
Papilio - The Secret of the Green Time Capsule
"Papilio was conceived as a children's film - but we found that the adventures of the little caterpillar captivated both children and adults alike," says 3D specialist Johannes Pötscher. The protagonist of the story is a caterpillar, a swallowtail caterpillar. From its perspectives, it lets us participate in its adventures, and there are many of them before the miraculous transformation into a butterfly is complete. For example, it has to fend off the attack of cross spiders or ants with its special orange-colored neck fork, which secretes a scent. Or did you know that caterpillars can swim?
This much can be revealed - the film begins in winter - this may be surprising, but one genaration hibernates the cold season as a pupa, then hatches in April as a moth.
