The Enns is an energising source of life to which a vast valley owes its name and scenic majesty. However, the Enns Valley is also - despite all former river regulation and drainage measures - a (super)habitat for many endangered animal and plant species, which find refuge in numerous wet meadows and moors. One of the last large valley raised bogs of international importance is the Pürgschachen Moor, which is still largely intact from an ecological point of view. The book is about this and the Enns.
