Retter BioGut: Learning to bake bread
General Information
In this course, participants learn how to bake healthy bread at home. Together with master baker Christoph Blamauer, they will make breads from sourdough, spelt bread and various types of small baked goods such as bread rolls, rolls, croissants and savoury sticks. Start at 12 noon!
What could be better than creating or making something with your hands? Bread and pastries are an everyday commodity and foodstuff. We often don't realise what valuable food is available to us to satisfy our hunger. This course teaches you more than just how to bake bread. Participants will learn which ingredients are used and in what quantities. What is important to ensure that the dough ‘rises’ well. How long to bake this dough. Participants learn all this and can then make nutritious, high-quality bread for the family at home. You know what's inside! And all without kneading.
Who doesn't know the smell of freshly baked bread and pastries! A unique experience awaits the participants.
Retter BioGut with bakery - which has only been open to visitors as part of guided tours since the end of August 2018: The energy-optimised building houses a distillery, herbalist and ice cream maker. Juices and brandies are made from organic fruit from the Retters' surrounding orchards. Many of the delicacies are served to guests in the hotel.
Do good and talk about it! Should we even talk about all the good things we do? Ulli Retter gives a resounding yes: ‘We focus on education. We want to give our guests the knowledge that we have acquired over the years.’ This includes many details and ideas, the many certifications and, of course, his own energetic attitude. Choose from the bread baking courses at Retter BioGut.
