Workshop Description
Painting with watercolors indoors and outdoors
In the inspiring, centuries-old cultural landscape around Pöllau Castle and in the open-air studio of the nature park, art enthusiasts will find excellent conditions for watercolor painting.
We will deeply explore the properties and possibilities of painting with watercolors. In exercises, we will experiment with the relationship between water and color, while learning about the different effects of watercolor techniques. After some warm-up exercises with brushes of various widths and plenty of water, we will lay down a simple pencil sketch of our subject.
By painting in layers that should dry in between, the transparency of the colors comes into play, creating depth. We can also go outdoors to search for motifs and set up to paint in front of them.
