The village of Kapfenstein, which is also located on the hiking route "From Glacier to Wine", nestles on one of the numerous extinct volcanic cones of this region. There you will find places with a special effect, power and, above all, magnificent views. Around the cone, the Geotrail not only leads through a fascinating landscape, but also into the eventful past of this region with information points. In the volcano museum "Geoinfo", these exciting chapters of the earth's history become tangible.

On the volcanic cone you will also find Kapfenstein Castle and the winery of the Winkler-Hermaden family, which is known for its award-winning wines beyond the borders of the country. A castle with a magnificent terrace and fine regional cuisine and a winery worth seeing with the "Long Cellar" invite you to visit and taste.
