Rauhnachtwanderung
General Information
Around 12 nights around the turn of the year are known as the Rauhnächte. According to folklore, the stormy forces of the midwinter season withdrew on the night of January 6, "the Wild Hunt" (settled down at the end of the Rauhnächte: The Rauhnächte were determinative as a farmers' rule for the weather of the twelve months of the new year.

Itinerary of the hike:
Meeting point at 16:10 at VTZ Hofer-Mühle Stainz
Distribution of solar torches and tickets
16:30 Start of the hike towards Rauch Hof, after a third of the hike we will experience the "smudging" with smudging expert Alexandra Koch and a warm drink (mulled wine or tea). During the smudging, we conclude with the old and open ourselves to the new. After that, we continue our hike through the Bründlwald to the atmospherically illuminated Castle Stainz. Here we will be entertained by the torch dance of the Stainz folk dance group. After approximately 5 km, we will be back at the Hofer-Mühle, where a snack and a glass of Frizzante await us to toast the New Year.
The price of € 29.00 per adult includes the guided hike, 1 warm drink during the break, the "smudging" with smudging expert Alexandra Koch, the torch dance of the Stainz folk dance group, the rental of the solar torch or a wax torch, as well as a snack and a glass of Frizzante or juice to conclude at the Hofer-Mühle.
Tickets are only available for pre-sale online and at Trafik Schauer. We will hand you the ticket as well as the torch directly on site at the start of the hike.

The price of € 29.00 per adult includes the rental of the solar torch or the use of a wax torch, the guided hike, 2 drinks, and a snack as well as the "smoking" ceremony.
Tickets are only available in advance online and at Trafik Schauer. We will hand over the ticket and the torch to you directly on-site at the start of the hike.

Difficulty
A hike of about 5 kilometers around Stainz - there is a small ascent after the Rauch - Hof.... forest and meadow paths and a short stretch along the road on the sidewalk.
