General Information
The Genuss-Schilchern to open the season in St. Stefan has become legendary.
This year, it will once again take place on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in St. Stefan ob Stainz.
Our “Schilcher wine” from the region is the reason for this great event, which was founded more than 10 years ago on the initiative of Michael Lang, Robert Knausz and Karl Geiser. Since then, the event has grown steadily.
Start of the three guided hiking tours:
9 a.m. Schilcherland parking lot (opposite the school center) in the direction of Gundersdorf, Hochgrail and Langegg
You can also hike individually at any time and put together your own personal hiking route.....
You have the opportunity to taste the new wines and discover the beautiful hiking trails until around 16:00.
A nice children's program awaits you at Ribes Saft, and you will be entertained musically at various stations. Discover the Schilcherland St. Stefan ob Stainz from its most beautiful side, when nature awakens, the wine cellars are well filled and the wineries open their cellar doors.
Paul Prattes can also be found on the trails with live entries for Radio Steiermark. And with a bit of luck, he will accompany them part of the way.
The tastings include everything from a glass of wine, a wine or juice tasting to a visit to the Farmers' Museum, culinary snacks and cellar tours.
The tastings are offered between 10.00 am and 4.00 pm at the wineries.
