Fortress Oberkapfenberg
Burg Oberkapfenberg Betriebs GmbH
Schlossberg 1 | 8605 Kapfenberg
Fortress Oberkapfenberg is a hilltop castle and landmark of the town of Kapfenberg. At the end of the 13th century, the castle was built in its present form by the lords and counts of Stubenberg. However, after the counts moved their residence in 1739, the castle stood empty and fell into ruin. It was not until 1955 that Count Stubenberg began reconstruction into a castle hotel, and in 1992 it was purchased by the municipality of Kapfenberg. The association "Initiative Burg Oberkapfenberg" was founded to promote the restoration. Today it is considered a popular destination for excursions, which takes you back to the age of knights and is also often booked for weddings and events.
In addition to the seminar room, fortress Oberkapfenberg also has larger and smaller rooms that are suitable for seminars.
