The restaurant Valek's Platzhirsch is run by Sylvia Valek and Manfred Brus and is still known to many as "Ferdl's." It offers a rustic atmosphere that is hard to find a second time in Graz. Traditional Austrian home-style cooking is served, supplemented by fresh fish and seafood, as well as regularly changing seasonal dishes. The menu includes Backhenderl, Zwiebelrostbraten, steaks, calamari, mussels, and the popular house plates. Vegetarian and vegan dishes are also offered.
Throughout the year, various culinary focuses are set at Platzhirsch. Fish weeks, game weeks, goose season, and Spanish days are just as much a part of it as the barbecue evenings that take place every two weeks. Suitable rooms are available for celebrations such as weddings, birthdays, company parties, and Christmas parties. Large groups and tour buses also find ample space, and seminar rooms are offered as well. The adjacent I AM Hotel Seiersberg provides a practical addition for guests needing accommodations.
Dishes can be taken away upon request, and a catering service is also offered. The guest garden is generously designed, features a children's playground, and is accessible just like the indoor area.
