Graz Truffle Festival

01/01/1980 - 31/12/2068 Show all dates

It is a real culinary sensation: truffles grow in the forests of the GenussHauptstadt Graz!

Every year in autumn, Graz puts a special treasure in the spotlight: the truffle. During this time, selected partner businesses dedicate themselves to culinary creations with truffles from different regions of origin. The black Graz truffle - which belongs to the family of Burgundy truffles - of course, should not be missed here.

A special connection is formed through the interplay of truffle and Styrian wine. This harmonizes particularly well with the earthy aroma of the truffle and is awarded annually as part of the festival.  The city of enjoyment shows how diverse the noble tuber is interpreted in the kitchens of the city and how beautifully it can be combined with regional ingredients
In the Paradeishof, an international meeting point for truffle fans is created. Exhibitors from various regions of Italy, Croatia, and Styria present exquisite specialties, accompanied by wines that ideally complement the taste of the truffle. The courtyard of the department store Kastner & Öhler thus becomes a place of exchange for a few days, where producers can directly engage with visitors and provide insights into the origin, processing, and unique features of the respective truffle products.

And those who want to get closer to the source can accompany the truffle hunters in the Leechwald. Trained truffle dogs show how the underground-growing mushrooms are found, while the walk provides exciting insights into the ecosystem of the city forest. To conclude, a small sample awaits for home.
Thus, the truffle in Graz becomes an experience that goes far beyond the kitchen.
