The historic city of Friedberg lies on the sunny side (south side) of the Wechselgebirge, nestled in a wooded hilly and mountain landscape at an altitude of 600 metres and covering an area of 25 km². Due to its location protected from the wind and its healing climate for cardiac, thyroid and asthmatic illnesses, Friedberg offers the best conditions for recovery. Friedberg can easily be reached from Vienna (90 km) and Graz (80 km): by car via the south motorway A2 (drive time about 1 hour) and by railway (ride time about 1 hour and 20 minutes).
