About the region

What guests can look forward to

Fischbach is above all known for the legendary summit, the Teufelstein [Devil's Stone], because this is where Lucifer is to have attempted to build a tower to heaven. Today, this is one of the most popular hiking destinations in the diverse range of trails in the Fischbacher Alps, where Fischbach is also a stage on the hiking route "From the Glacier to the Wine". A unique hike takes place here on the winter solstice every year. It is a true natural spectacle and certainly worth a visit. The Alpannonia long-distance hiking trail also starts in Fischbach and leads to Köszeg in Hungary in six to seven days.

The largest spring festival in the region also takes place in Fischbach: the 'Easter Bunny Festival' [Osterhasenkirtag]. During the Easter season, the town transforms into a true Easter bunny town. Hundreds of hand-painted wooden Easter bunnies adorn the town during this time. There are also plenty of culinary delights to discover are well: in the town centre, there is one guesthouse after the next, such as the 2-star restaurant "Zum Forsthaus" or the popular "Strudlwirt", with over 30 different varieties of homemade strudel. Fischbach is also a popular town for a wellness holiday. At the 4-star superior Dorfhofel Fasching, you can be pampered any time of the day.
