This HWW hiking route is part of the Wechselland Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail (HWW), which tells the story of Wechselland along more than 100 HWW stations. More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at.
This extensive HWW hiking route starts at GH Schäffernsteg, leads via Sparberegg and Götzendorf as well as Götzendorf/Römergrab to Laglmühle, from there via Bärnegg and Tanzegg and Lafnitzdorf back to Schäffernsteg. On the way you come to the HWW station Sparberegg/Fernblickhütte, where it is explained that the border to what was then Hungary was once closed due to the cholera epidemic.

Arrival by car
- Take the A2 highway to the Pinggau exit.
- Take the 1st exit at the traffic circle.
The tour is not signposted throughout. Route guidance with app recommended.
A visit to the Fernblick hiking hut with its friendly hosts is highly recommended.
