This HWW hiking route is part of the Wechselland Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail (HWW), which tells the story of Wechselland along more than 100 HWW stations. More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at.

This HWW hiking route leads from Schäffern to Laglmühle via the Gschaidt viewing tower to Götzendorf to the Dreiländerstein. The end of the hike is at the Dreiländerstein HWW station, where you can find out how old the Dreiländerstein is and how it came about that three federal states border each other at this location.

Take the Schäffern exit from the A2.

The tour is not signposted throughout. Route guidance with app recommended.

We recommend a visit to the newly designed village square in Schäffern, or you can visit the Bärenstarke hiking and exercise arena in the village.

For local transportation we recommend the SAM-Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark.

There is a parking lot next to the church in Schäffern.
