This HWW hiking route is part of the Wechselland Historical Long-Distance Hiking Trail (HWW), which tells the story of Wechselland along more than 100 HWW stations. More information can be found at www.wechsel-wandern.at.

This HWW hiking route connects the town centers of Lafnitz and Eichberg. Along the HWW route you come to the HWW station Weingraben 2, where you can learn that a small part of an elephant-like animal was once found. You can find out more about this geological epoch at this statio.

Arrival by car

Drive along the A2 highway to the Pinkafeld exit.
Then follow the signs to Grafenschachen.
Continue to Neustift an der Lafnitz and Lafnitz.

The tour is not signposted throughout. Route guidance with app recommended.

We recommend visiting the exhibition in the unique ambience of Aichberg Castle.

For local transportation we recommend the SAM-Sammeltaxi Oststeiermark.

There are parking spaces at the municipal office in Lafnitz.
