Sub Terra Vorau and Museum
Vorau
During a guided tour at the Augustinian Canonry Vorau, the Sub Terra Vorau Museum can also be visited.
The exhibition space is located in the Waldlturm within the monastery grounds and features numerous archaeological finds from the immediate vicinity and further surroundings of the Augustinian Canonry Vorau, as well as the earth cells and underground passages.
Unique exhibits such as the “Dragon Relief” or Neolithic stone axes can be seen alongside many other finds in the showcases. These ancient testimonies of former cultures take the visitor back thousands of years into the history of the northeastern Styrian area. The focus is on the underground facilities and remains of megalithic cultures in the region.
