The artwork, which provides a habitat for many small animals, was created from 8.5 tons of stone, moss, and wood by the Austrian species conservation initiative BeeWild and Andreas Gabalier in cooperation with Graz-based artist Thomas Zimmermann, who designed and implemented this stepping stone biotope together with students from the Polytechnic School in Pöllau. The ideal location was found in the Pöllauer Valley Nature Park, a pioneer in harmonizing tourism, agriculture, and nature conservation.
