At the Karl-Wirt there is a lot to experience in winter too: there is enough space for ice skaters, curlingers and ice hockey players on the perfectly groomed ice surface. New ice-skating aids for children have also been purchased and ice skate rental rounds off the package.
In winter, a 1,500 m² natural ice rink awaits you right in front of the Karl-Wirt leisure facility in St. Kathrein am Offenegg. Here you can practice curling, ice skating or ice hockey on the well-maintained ice rinks. There is also ice skate rental for adults and children on site. If it can be a little longer, the floodlight system offers the perfect conditions for night ice skating. In addition to ice skates, you can also borrow ice stocks and slabs.
The Karl-Wirt is also an ideal place for tournaments or club events. Right next to the ice rink is the inn, where you can get drinks or go to eat.

The use of the ice rink (ice skating, curling, ice hockey) is permitted during the opening times of the inn.
The inn has the following opening times:
- Wednesday to Saturday from 11 am
- Sundays and public holidays from 10 am
- Monday, Tuesday closed
Excluding company vacation (always 2 weeks in summer)
