Seitinger & Maierhofer - Musical Cabaret

Seitinger & Maierhofer skillfully balance between social observations, humorous moments, and melancholic tones. The everyday transforms in a touching and entertaining way into stories that are carried by music. The well-crafted songs are performed in the Upper Styrian dialect and oscillate between jazz, folk music, and a touch of pop.

The second album "Hauptsoch die Leut habn was zum Redn" was released on 25.04.2025. The journey begins in the Styrian Mürztal, a region full of contrasts that is portrayed lovingly yet critically. Titles like "Mürztal" or "Der Hahn" shed light on life between industry, nature, and the small absurdities of everyday life. Secretly overheard neighborhood gossip stands alongside covert admiration.

At the same time, the duo demonstrates its ability to transform profound emotions into goosebump moments in songs like "Nebn deiner Woikn" or "I bin’s leid". Folk songs like "In die Berg bin i gern" are also reinterpreted, bringing them into the present.

The foundation of the band consists of guitar (Lukas Maierhofer), double bass (Tobias Steinrück), and drums (Klaus Fürstner). Jonny Kölbl, on the Styrian harmonica, continually surprises with his enterprising spirit. The unique voices of Johanna Seitinger and Lukas Maierhofer take center stage, celebrating, lamenting, and exchanging secrets. An absolutely recommended evening for lovers of modern Austrian music.
