Marvel at the unique nativity scenes!
The most significant and largest nativity exhibition in Styria is located in Auen in Passail!
Dr. Bernd Mayer at "Birglhof" has more than 600 exhibits from all over the world. The focus of the collection primarily lies on nativity scenes from the countries of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The Birglhof, the old economic building, has been converted into a spacious museum, thus providing the nativity scenes with a dignified setting. In addition to large nativity scenes often featuring several hundred figures from Ebensee or Grulich, impressive natural and shell nativity scenes, and treasures from the nativity strongholds of Viechtau and Nassereith, one can find numerous gems and rarities from Gothic to modern times.
The unique nativity scenes can be admired in the Advent season, but also year-round outside exhibition times by appointment only.
