Marvel at the unique nativity scenes!
The most significant and largest nativity scene exhibition in Styria is located in Auen in Passail!
Dr. Bernd Mayer at "Birglhof" owns more than 600 exhibits from all over the world. The focus of the collection is primarily on nativity scenes from the countries of the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.
The Birglhof, the old agricultural building, has been transformed into a spacious museum, providing a worthy setting for the nativity scenes. In addition to large nativity scenes, often featuring several hundred figures from Ebensee or Grulich, impressive natural and shell nativity scenes, as well as treasures from the nativity scene strongholds of Viechtau and Nassereith, there are numerous gems and rarities from the Gothic period to modern times.
The unique nativity scenes can be admired during the Advent season, but also year-round outside of exhibition hours by appointment via telephone.
