20 years of Big Band Kulmination lie behind the ensemble. Under the direction of Alfred Lang, the band has developed a distinctive musical character. The diverse program includes swing classics as well as contemporary compositions arranged by members of the Big Band. There are many big bands. However, there are hardly any in this country that have been active for over 40 years. Since 2008, the long-time lead trumpeter of the Bigband Weiz, Christoph Pfeiffer, has taken over the leadership. He brings exciting ideas and energy, captivating the audience. Numerous guest stars such as Billy Cobham, Vienna Clarinet Connection, Raphael Wressnig, Gunhild Carling, Bill Laurance, James Morrison, and many others have been presented since then.
