Passionate rhythms, strong emotions, and buoyant joy of life – this is how the start of the year sounds in Weiz!
Across the world of melodies – from Broadway through the spirited East to the Blue Danube! The New Year's concert of the Weiz City Orchestra brings together Bernstein's lively Candide overture, the waltz bliss of Strauss, charming operetta sounds from Lehár and Kálmán, as well as fiery dances from Brahms.
The audience can look forward to waltz successes – including a special treasure, the 'Delirium Waltz' by Eduard Strauss – and polkas that simply belong to the New Year! The wonderful singer Dorit Machatsch will provide warmth and melodies from Lehár and Kálmán. There’s even a little surprise from Paul Lincke hidden in the program.
To start the year with particularly lively energy, Bernstein's overture to 'Candide' is featured, a small greeting from Broadway. Delicacies from Brahms and Leroy Anderson will ensure the necessary enthusiasm.
