Museum Murtal

Judenburg

The Museum Murtal in Judenburg presents archaeological treasures from the region and takes visitors on a journey through time.

The Murtal Museum in Judenburg showcases archaeological finds from the Hallstatt period, including weapons, jewelry, and elaborate ceramics. A highlight is the famous Strettweg cult wagon from one of the princely graves. The exhibition takes visitors on a journey back in time to the Iron Age almost 3,000 years ago. The museum is located in one of the oldest buildings in the city, a former Minorite monastery, and was opened in 2019. In addition to the permanent exhibition, there are special exhibitions, workshops, and a walkable map of the region.
