The Zirbitzkogel, with its 2,396 meters in altitude, is the highest mountain in the Seetal Alps. The specially adapted and tested safety toboggans for BERGaufRODELN are available for rental at the Tonnerhütte and offer unique winter fun for young and old. Due to the specially adapted braking systems, even speedy tobogganists arrive safely in the valley.

Action, nature, and an extra dose of winter magic – every Thursday starting at 6:00 PM, it’s time to head to the AlmDorf Tonnerhütte, grab a sled, and off you go! Below you, the crunching snow and above you, the sparkling stars.
Upon arrival, you can expect: the silence of the night, the view into the valley, and pure anticipation. And then? Full speed ahead! With speed and adrenaline, you race back down into the valley – an experience you won't forget soon.

January 5, 2026 Rauhnachts-Perchten Sledding with the Seetaler Zirbenteufeln and the Sauzipf Teifl Zeltschach
Magic, Masks & MOUNTAIN SLEDDING:
On January 5, 2026, the Tonnerhütte will become the stage for a mystical winter evening.
Experience genuine traditions at 1,600 m – with sledding, fire, and the Seetaler Zirbenteufeln along with their friends from the Sauzipf Teifl Zeltschach.

Extensive pine forests, mountain lakes, the characteristic shape and the shelter located directly below the summit make the Zirbitzkogel unmistakable. So it is not surprising that with the uphill tobogganing a very special winter fun has been created. The tobogganing pleasure begins not only when going downhill, but already "uphill": With specially converted toboggans, you are pulled quite comfortably on your toboggan from the drag lift up the mountain. Downhill you go as you know it: on well-prepared toboggan runs - on the Zirbitzkogel through the snow-covered Zirbenwald. Whether on fast straights, through challenging curves or on relaxing gliding routes, there is something for everyone on our various toboggan runs. Refreshing are the dates of the night tobogganing.

Winter fresh tip: For over 40 years you can enjoy grandiose panoramic views, fresh alpine air and warm hospitality in the Tonnerhütte of family Ferner. Cooking is always fresh - with ingredients mainly from the region and a lot of organic. In addition, you can always find typical alpine dishes on the menu of the Ferner family, which you can no longer get everywhere - for example Breinwurst.

Night tobogganing is also available every Friday. This starts at 18.00 (please book in advance).
