Stage 02 - Time: SEVEN ELEMENTS - the Path
Accessible by public transportCharacteristics
SkillThe tour in numbers
has its hour. For every event under heaven there is a specific time." (Ecclesiastes 3:1) reminds us that change and letting go are part of life. Perhaps we will find the answer to this question as we walk through the Spitzenbachklamm gorge, gaze from the summit, or in a quiet moment.
This project is supported by the Interreg Danube Region Program, co-financed by the European Union.
In St. Gallen, the former trade union buildings on the market square dominate the townscape and serve as a reminder of the history of the iron industry. The trail leads us up to the Spitzenbachklamm gorge, where striking rock faces and the rushing stream make a lasting impression; at the same time, with over 400 documented butterfly species, it is considered a natural treasure. The trail continues through shady deciduous forests to the Spitzenbergeralm and the Sauboden before we reach the saddle between the Kleines and Grosses Maiereck. A scenic mountain ridge leads to the 1,763-meter-high summit with far-reaching panoramic views. The descent takes us via the Seisenalm and wooded paths into the valley, where we pass the water adventure park and finally return to St. Gallen.
