The Mitterberg offers truly one of the best views over the Village. The last meters to the summit are quite steep. At the summit there is enough area to rest.

Travelling to Wildalpen by car:
From Vienna: Take the A1 Westautobahn motorway, exit at Ybbs, drive via Wieselburg, Scheibbs and Lunz/See to Göstling an der Ybbs, continue towards Palfau, turn off at the Erzhalden junction towards Wildalpen.
From Vienna, Eisenstadt: Semmering expressway S6, near Mürzzuschlag onto the B23 Mariazeller Bundesstrasse and Mürzsteg and Wegscheid to Gusswerk and onto the Hochschwab Bundesstrasse B24 to Wildalpen.
From Linz: A1 to the Voralpenkreuz junction, A9 to Windischgarsten, Unterlaussa, Altenmarkt, Grossreifling, Palfau and Wildalpen.
From Salzburg: A1 to A9 to the Ardning/Admont exit, Gesäusebundesstrasse and B24 to Wildalpen.
From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn, exit, Traboch (near Leoben) via Präbichl/Eisenerz, Hieflau, Landl, Gams to Palfau, turn off at the Erzhalden junction towards Wildalpen.

Starting from the large signpost next to the Barbarakirche Wildalpen, you go direction Salza, where you cross the old wooden bridge, above the campsite directly to the entrance of the path to the Mitterberg. Follow a steep and serpentine path and reach a ridge. In the area of the last 50 meters the path becomes very steep again. The plateau at the summit cross invites you to a well deserved rest.
