From the parking area at the Buchauer Saddle (861 m), we head northwest across meadows into the forest. Trail no. 636 repeatedly shortcuts the forest road to the Grabneralm (1,395 m); the final two kilometers follow the road continuously. From the Grabneralm hut, the trail leads gently at first, then more steeply through dwarf pines to the saddle near Zilmkogel (1,588 m). From here, the terrain becomes more alpine: we pass natural watering spots and a ruined shelter before reaching the summit (1,848 m). The descent follows the same path – or we take the secured Jungfernsteig (A/B) to the Jungfernscharte (1,718 m) and continue to the Admonterhaus (1,724 m). Optionally, we can climb the nearby Admonter Warte (1,806 m) before completing the loop via the normal trail back to the Grabneralm and the Buchauer Saddle.
