Beautiful and quiet tour.

Follow the forest road from t he parking place to it's end. From there on a steep climb to the Goss. After a short break at the Gossstein on the left according to signs to the Hochplateou. Now very comfortable without many meters to the summit. The Buchberg (summit is in Landl) is a romantic panoramic mountain with a bench on the summit and the very best views. You can see very well over the mountain pastures and the mountain range of the Kalte Mauer, the Eisenertzer Alps and the Gesäuse. Above all, you can see the imposing Lugauer from the other side.

Travelling to Wildalpen by car:

From Vienna: Take the A1 Westautobahn motorway, exit at Ybbs and continue via Wieselburg, Scheibbs and Lunz/See to Göstling an der Ybbs. Continue towards Palfau and turn off at the Erzhalden junction towards Wildalpen.

From Vienna, Eisenstadt: Semmering expressway S6, near Mürzzuschlag take the B23 Mariazeller Bundesstrasse and Mürzsteg and Wegscheid to Gusswerk and on the Hochschwab Bundesstrasse B24 to Wildalpen

From Linz: A1 to the Voralpenkreuz junction, A9 to Windischgarsten, Unterlaussa, Altenmarkt, Grossreifling, Palfau and Wildalpen

From Salzburg: A1 to A9 to the Ardning/Admont exit, Gesäusebundesstrasse and B24 to Wildalpen

From the parking space to the end of the forest road from there on a steep climb to the Goss.

On the left according to signs to Hochplateou. From here very comfortable without many vertical meters to the summit.

Drive approximately 6 km along the road to Hinterwildalpen, past Gasthaus Zum Krug, then turn right immediately afterwards and after 1.1 km the hiking trail starts, following the road.
