Lake Altaussee is one of the most scenic lakes in the Salzkammergut. It is located at the foot of Loser Mountain in a fantastic mountain landscape.

The water is crystal clear-transparent and has a slightly dark blue color. That is why Lake Altaussee is also called the "dark blue inkwell".

A bulkheaded panoramic path with a length of about 7 kilometers leads around the lake. The view to the Dachstein, but also the different angles to the Loser, Trisselwand, Tressenstein and Sandling will inspire you.

If you want to shorten the way or want to get to the Seewiese more comfortably, you can take the solar boat across the lake.

In summer, the beach around Lake Altaussee and the signposted sunbathing areas are freely accessible!
