About us

Where the hearts of children and young people beat faster

For almost 20 years, the Next Liberty has been making theatre an up close and personal experience for children and young people, adults and the young at heart, families and friends from around Styria and has thus become a special place for the whole family.

With six new theatre and musical productions, including the great family musical at the Graz Opera, adventurous stories and loving figures are brought to life on the Next Liberty stage anew every season. This interesting mix of well-known materials and proven artists, new pieces and young talent provides for captivating theatrical moments and sparkling children's eyes every year at over 300 performances.

The varied schedule is also supplemented by an extensive theatre education programme. At play clubs and workshops, all those who are interested also have the opportunity to engage with the pieces and the topics addressed in them beyond just attending the performance, even of actively performing on the stage themselves and thus finding their very own way in to this always exciting, evolving and immensely enriching world of theatre.
