The core of the house dates from the second half of the 16th century and is therefore one of the oldest houses in town.
During the Reformation, this was the meeting place of the Protestants.
Above an archway, the following inscription was found: “PORTA PATENS ESTE NULLI CLAUDARIS HONESTO” (“The door shall be open, to no honorable man shall it be closed”).
A Protestant cemetery was located on the site of the former inn Sitt.
