Gossendorf crib trail
Advent magic in Gossendorf with over 63 unique nativity scenes along a scenic circular path.
As the days grow shorter and Advent unfolds its quiet magic, the Gossendorfer Nativity Trail invites you to let your soul unwind and experience the contemplative season mindfully. 63 lovingly designed nativity scenes make the recreational area of Gossendorf a very special nativity village – created by families, clubs, and people who want to make their connection to the region visible.
Along the three circular routes – between 2.4 and 3.5 kilometers – red marked stars lead the way to the unique nativity scenes. Each one is a small work of art made from natural materials, including the mechanical fitness nativity, the fire department nativity, the knitted nativity, the musical nativity, and even a living nativity. The trail is particularly atmospheric in the evening hours – lantern light makes the walk a warm, touching experience.
A special place for reflection is the SILENT SPACE in the Maria Hilf Chapel, framed by white thematic banners. Here, visitors can write down their thoughts about Advent and hang them on the "Tree of Silence" – a moment of peace in the midst of pre-Christmas daily life.
Highlights of Advent:
• Ceremonial opening on November 30, 2025, 2 PM, Maria Hilf Chapel
• Advent concert by the TMK Gossendorf on December 14, 5 PM
• Christmas sounds from music students on December 20, 3 PM
• Innkeeper search on December 21, 5 PM
The nativity trail is freely accessible from the 1st Advent Sunday to January 6 – entrance is possible anywhere. In addition to the circular routes, there are 12 outdoor nativity scenes that make Advent palpable in all its quiet beauty.
