He is sometimes referred to by music journalists as a "rebel" against the piano establishment. Vital and impulsive, Chris Jarrett's music is full of breaks and surprises, and is never easy to categorize within the usual music industry classifications. Frank Zappa is just as much an inspiration to him as the masters of the Baroque or Modern eras. Accordingly, his repertoire is also quite open, ranging from atonal miniatures to sonatas, film scores, ballet, and even opera.

Details

The maternal grandparents of Chris and Keith Jarrett come from Apače in Slovenia, and an aunt lived in Radkersburg. The concert provides an opportunity to explore the roots in the Austrian and Slovenian Styria.
