Genussreise: Auf den Spuren Erzherzog Johanns
Experience a unique culinary and cultural journey of discovery through Stainz!
Current information
Please use the free parking spaces at Stainz Castle or at the Ettendorf car park (end of Hauptplatz - Bahnhofstraße). The meeting point is at the Hubmann department store.
This culinary journey invites you to discover Stainz from its most delicious side – embedded in the history of Archduke Johann and his wife Anna Plochl, whose lives continue to shape the region to this day. Experience history, regional culture and Styrian cuisine in a particularly atmospheric way!
The afternoon begins at Café Hubmann, where freshly roasted Stainz coffee and a traditional Linzertorte cake provide the perfect start.
A short walk takes you to Stainz Castle, where humorous anecdotes, historical insights and culinary stories come to life in the Archduke Johann Museum. The ‘Limonisoß à la Anna Plochl’ guided tour combines culture, everyday life and enjoyment in a unique way.
Afterwards, the ‘Archduke Johann's Prickelperle’ aperitif awaits you at the Schloss Café Stainz – available as either a Schilcher or white wine version.
The evening ends at the Stainzerhof with a carefully coordinated three-course menu inspired by the historical couple's favourite dishes. Here, regional quality meets modern interpretations – a culinary highlight that rounds off the trip.
This offer is perfect for individual guests, companies, travel groups and as a gift.
Group and accommodation packages are put together individually by CDM Incoming Schilcherland Event.
