"Fühle den Körper"
" For many years, skin has been the central theme of Anneliese Schrenk. Her working material includes so-called "discarded skin": leather that cannot be used further due to various "defects" in the processing process. Stretched on canvas and delicately tattooed or burned into the surface are motifs reminiscent of anatomical drawings from the early modern period. This "skin" reveals both beauty and cruelty and circulates around diverse themes. Anneliese Schrenk also arranges iron and steel instruments, which are used, for example, in the slaughter process or for livestock keeping, in her works, thus opening up new horizons of meaning full of ambivalence - both pleasurable and painful, sometimes poetic and suffering, sometimes penetrating and almost brutal."
In the Galerie Marenzi, alongside leather and metal objects, some photo and video works are also being exhibited for the first time.
