Brief historical background: The Mur ferry in Weitersfeld was once intended for "30 people, 7 head of cattle or a loaded agricultural cart".
Nowadays, the last intact rolling ferry on the Mur, which is conveniently located directly on the Mur cycle path, is used more by cyclists. Suspended from a steel cable, passers-by are brought safely across the Mur to the other bank.
In exceptional situations such as high and low water, the ferry does not run!
The ferry runs every day of the week!
