SkillThe tour in numbers
The Pistenskitour Fastenberg begins at the valley station of the Fastenberg 6-seater chairlift and leads through a varied route with forest passages and piste sections all the way up to the Planai mountain station. Along the way, you will pass the Wieslech reservoir and the Wieslechalm, the well-known summer bike trails Flowline and Monster Jumpline, the ladies’ start of the 2013 Ski World Championships, and the Planai reservoir. Continuing via the Quellbodenhütte, along the WM Path, and past the Almrausch, you’ll finally reach the mountain station – where the Schafalm and the Schladminger Hütte invite you to take a well-deserved break.
Since most of the ascent route leads through the forest, it is important to pay attention to snow conditions off the piste. Please also note that the ski tour is only permitted during official piste opening hours.
A ticket is required for the use of the ski touring route. This must be purchased in advance at the ticket office at the valley station of the Fastenberg 6-seater. Current ticket prices can be found here: https://www.planai.at/en/tickets-and-prices/winter-prices/skitour%20ticket

The Pistenskitour Fastenberg begins at the valley station of the Fastenberg 6-seater chairlift. From there, the route leads between slopes 2 and 3 into the forest.
Through the snowy forest, the trail ascends to the Wieslech reservoir, passing the Wieslechalm along the way. Following slope 3a, the route continues briefly toward the mid-station before turning back into the forest. Here, it follows a picturesque hollow path, passing the well-known summer bike trails Flowline and Monster Jumpline.
After crossing the ladies’ downhill slope 2a and passing the ladies’ start of the 2013 Ski World Championships, the trail continues uphill through the forest to the Planai reservoir. From there, it leads across to the men’s downhill slope 1, passing the Quellbodenhütte.
The route then follows the WM Path – a popular hiking trail in summer – until it reaches the Rookie Downhill Trail. This trail is followed uphill until arriving at the Almrausch. The final meters climb alongside the slope 2 up to the Planai mountain station.
At the top, the Schafalm and the Schladminger Hütte invite you to enjoy a well-earned break.
