This tour starts in the village of Mönichwald and takes us up to the summit of the Hochwechsel. From there, we follow the Wexl Trail on a beautiful circular route through the Wechsel region to St. Lorenzen/Wechsel and down to Bruck/Lafnitz.
We begin our bike tour in the beautiful flower village of Mönichwald. Our route takes us uphill on a paved road to the Hotel Schwengerer. From there, we continue on the municipal road to the Alpengasthof Spitzbauer. From there, it is not far to the summit of the Hochwechsel. We ride along the Wexl Trail to the Vorauer Schwaig. It is then just a stone's throw to the Glatzl Trahütten Alm. We continue along the marked route to the municipality of St. Lorenzen/Wechsel and descend on the asphalt road to our destination in Bruck/Lafnitz.

From Vienna: Take the A2 – Südautobahn motorway to the
Friedberg/Pinggau exit. Then drive via Dechantskirchen and Bruck/Lafnitz to Mönichwald and the other municipalities in the region.
Or:
From Graz: Take the A2 to the Pinkafeld exit. Then drive via Lafnitz and Rohrbach/Lafnitz to Mönichwald in
the Joglland-Waldheimat region.

From the flower village of Mönichwald, we drive uphill on the paved municipal road to the Schwengerer inn and hotel.
Here we can take a break, enjoy the beautiful view, and recharge our batteries for the rest of the journey.
We continue on to our next destination, the cozy Spitzbauer Alpine inn. At the Alpengasthof, we can relax again after the ride and recharge our batteries with a hearty meal and chilled drinks.
A good half hour later, we arrive at the Kaltwiesenhütte. A rest is also recommended here.
After that, we need an hour's ride uphill to reach the summit of the Hochwechsel. The panoramic view is beautiful and the effort of the tour so far is quickly forgotten with refreshments at the Wetterkoglerhaus, which is right next door.
Now we descend on the Wexl Trail to the Vorauer Schwaig. This rustic hut is open during the summer months.
We continue to another hut, the Glatzl Trahütten Alm.
From there, a forest road leads downhill to the village of St. Lorenzen/Wechsel. Here you can stop at the local restaurants and take a short tour of the village.
Finally, the paved municipal road leads downhill to Bruck/Lafnitz. The route continues along the federal highway to the destination of Mönichwald.
Here we can take a break, enjoy the beautiful view, and recharge our batteries for the rest of the journey.
