A great starting point for this varied loop is the center of Ramsau. From there, the route leads past the local school and towards the Edelbrunn inn. It continues via the Dachsteinhaus to the Brandalm and climbs up to the Türlwandhütte, all while offering spectacular views of the dramatic Dachstein south face.
A thrilling descent follows on the paved toll road, taking you back down to the Ramsau high plateau. After a short, flatter section, the next climb begins – this time up to the summit of Rittisberg. Once at the summit cross, you’re rewarded with a stunning panoramic view stretching from the Dachstein massif to the Tauern range.
The route then descends towards Vorberg–Pichl, passing idyllic farms and through a quiet, flat section. One final climb leads to the Kulmberg before an easy descent brings you comfortably back to Ramsau – the perfect way to end the tour.
Highlights along the route:
- Panoramic perfection: The summit of Rittisberg offers a sweeping view – from the sheer south face of the Dachstein to the Schladminger Tauern.
- A varied ride: Challenging climbs, speedy descents, and peaceful flat sections provide the perfect mix of sport and enjoyment.
- Alpine charm: Especially around Brandalm and Türlwandhütte, the closeness to the Dachstein is palpable – ideal for a scenic rest stop.
Note: The route is currently rideable, though some patches of snow remain at higher elevations. Until then, nothing stands in the way of your ride – but please keep an eye on trail conditions and be prepared to turn back if necessary.
Take your camera with you! The tour takes you past numerous magnificent vantage points.
Chargers for Bosch e-bikes are available at the Edelbrunn Inn and at the Brandalm.
