Parish Church of St. Nicholas
On 1 May 1860 was Assach made into an independent parish. Our parish church is dedicated to St. Nicholas. Assach was the starting point of an ancient trading route that led across the mountains to Hallstatt. This explains the patron saint Nicholas. St. Nicholas was in ancient times the patron saint of the purchase and carters.
