Folk music band Gröbming

Gröbminger Land

1833 – The era of the so-called 'Biedermeier'. Some music-loving residents of Gröbming decide to acquire instruments such as kettledrums, French horns, or contrabassoons to produce musical sounds – likely primarily in the form of church music – in Gröbming. Over the years, the oldest music band in the music district has also developed into one of the largest music bands. Today, 40 musicians under 30 and 40 musicians over 30 (a total of 80) perform in the association and its associated small groups. Highlights of the music club include the traditional wish concert on Palm Saturday and various performances in the Gröbming area and beyond.
