Monday: Beginner ski tour to Sulzenhals

Ideal beginner ski tour for those who want to start ski touring. Not along a slope, but straight into the true terrain! Beautifully situated with a view of the southern walls of the Dachstein, we follow a cart path to Bachlam before gradually entering the open terrain. Only towards the end of the tour does the terrain become steeper as we head up to Sulzenhals, where a few switchbacks must be mastered. From there, we continue to Sulzenschneide. Additional content points include:
-Learning the right technique for ascending as well as helpful tips for descending
-LVS introduction

Tuesday: Snowshoe hike at the foot of the Dachstein to Brandriedl

On our Tuesday snowshoe tour, we hike at the foot of the Dachstein and ascend in a beautiful loop to Brandriedl, the uniquely situated viewpoint mountain high above Ramsau. Away from the usual paths, into the true winter mountain world of the Dachstein. No special prior knowledge or preparations are required for snowshoeing. At the end of the tour, we will stop at an old rustic alpine hut. LVS, shovel, and probe are included in the price.

Wednesday: Dachstein crossing to Obertraun specifically for ski tourers!

Our Dachstein crossing is designed for ski tourers. We do not follow the prepared ratrack trail, but instead choose our way over the Hallstätter Glacier, entirely in the open terrain. The Dachstein crossing is known as one of the most beautiful ski tours and as Austria's national ski tour. In the midst of the high alpine mountain scenery of the Dachstein, the easternmost glacier of the Alps is crossed. We start our tour at Hunnerkogel at 2700m and ski down about 600 vertical meters into the open terrain over the north-facing Hallstätter Glacier. After a 20-minute ascent, we enjoy our lunch break at the Simony Hut. Afterwards, we cross the very impressive Dachstein plateau. We ski down the 11 km long Krippenstein slope to Obertraun, located at 550m above sea level. With good snow conditions, the more difficult variant can be skied down to Hallstatt. A bus will take us back to the starting point.

Thursday: Snowshoe Hike in the Schladming Tauern
(long mountain tour, approx. 5 hrs)

Sporty full-day snowshoe tour from the Hochwurzen. The first summit is Roßfeld, from there you continue to Guschen (1,982 m), located on the Hochwurzen high trail. This peak offers a fantastic view down to Schladming and south into the Schladming Tauern. After the total 5-hour hike and a well-earned break at the Hochwurzen Hut, you can still take the 6 km toboggan run back down .

Friday: Challenging Ski Tour in the Schladming Tauern

The Schladming Tauern offer a large number of beautiful, yet mostly less-known peaks and ski touring summits. These mountains reach up to 2,600 m and the ascents can involve up to 1,500 vertical metres. Depending on the destination, the tours range from intermediate to demanding, with kick-turn terrain and descents on slopes of over 40 degrees. The exact tour will be chosen the day before according to snow and avalanche conditions and, of course, in consultation with the participants. Possible objectives include the Steirische or Lungauer Kalkspitze, Hochfeld, Gumpenegg or Kampspitze.

Saturday: Freeride Descent on the Dachstein through the Edelgries
(of course, all other variants on the Dachstein are also possible)

Probably one of the most beautiful and spectacular ski runs in our region is the descent through the Edelgries bowl. First, you climb a 45 m ladder up to the Rosmarin tunnel and then traverse a steep slope with a safety rope before descending 1,000 vertical metres in open terrain through the Edelgries. Gradients of over 40 degrees! With good snow conditions, you can also add the Kramllahn, an additional 600 vertical metres down to Ramsau. Beforehand, we do a practice run on the Dachstein Glacier. Safety equipment such as avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe is provided. If you have already done the Edelgries tour, we can alternatively step it up with the Gruberkar below the Guttenberghaus.
